Sprinkle with Murder by Jenn McKinlay: a book review

Re-reading books is like visiting with an old friend. That’s why, whenever I have a new book to read in a series, I always go back re-read the series from the beginning. This week, the latest in Jenn McKinlay‘s Cupcake Bakery Mystery series was released. What better way to await the arrival of the new book? Start from book one: Sprinkle with Murder.

Melanie Cooper and Angie DeLaura own a cupcake bakery with their best friend Tate Harper. When Tate asks them to make the cupcakes for his upcoming wedding, the girls are less than enthusiastic. His fiance is a bridzilla they would prefer he didn’t marry.

20180326_072503They get their wish when Tate’s fiance winds up dead. Only Mel and Tate are prime suspects. When their cupcake business takes a hit because of the investigation, Mel and Angie realize they have to find the real murderer before they lose all their customers.

Sprinkle with Murder is a fast-paced, light-hearted story about three best friends who stand by one another in the face of losing everything they care about. It’s a fun way to start a series that I enjoy each time I read it.
