Reading Wednesday| I am a Bunny

Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved Golden Books. So whenever I come across one, I love to read it to my son. One of our current favorites is I am a Bunny by Ole Risom. In honor of Children’s Book Week, here’s my review of this lovely story.

I am a Bunny is a timeless tale that follows Nicholas, a little rabbit, through the ways he experiences each of the four seasons. Beginning in Spring with flowers and20180416_104348 butterflies, Nicholas recounts various activities many little boys and girls would also enjoy. By the end, it refers back to Spring, showing the circle that is our seasons.

The illustrstrations, by Richard Scarry, are bright and beautiful. The writing is simple, yet elloquent. I especially like how it teaches children the uniqueness and gift each season brings.

I am a Bunny was gifted to us before my son was born. Now, it has become one of my favorite children’s book. Perhaps you’ll love it, too.
